POSTCARD COMETS is the performing name of Toronto-based songsmith, producer and performer David Partridge. On record, with his musical partner Robert Wilburn, he creates song-based pop that blends acoustic, electric and electronic elements into an engaging lyric-focused listening experience. On stage, he is an engaging solo performer accompanying himself on guitar and playing a blend of original songs and the odd, and sometimes very odd, cover tune.

Overall, the music of POSTCARD COMETS reflects a variety of musical influences and styles including rock, folk, soul and country. But regardless of the inspiration, the execution is always in service of the song.

Allen Smith had the good fortune to be born into a musical family in Erie, Pa., in the 1940s, a time when home-made music was a popular pastime. His earliest musical influence was his mother, who played ragtime piano. She was one of many family musicians.

He studied french horn in school and did some symphony playing as an adult.

He became interested in folk music in the 1960s and began playing the guitar and banjo then.

He particularly loves the beautiful songs of the 19th century by composers Stephen Foster, Percy French and their contemporaries, which he heard his family playing from early childhood.

He believes that these popular songs and folk songs from the previous four centuries are timeless and deserve an authentic presentation today. Many listeners have made it plain that they agree.

"I was raised with music, started with piano lessons on my mum's piano at the age of 6 which I stopped at the age of 9 since it didn't impress the girls enough. So at 10 or so I started with the guitar and ever since played this instrument. My love for it increases with the age and the changing playing style.
"I played in many bands but decided not to live and depend on music after I had earned money with a cover band in American clubs during my time at the university. So I went into business, did quite well and never stopped playing guitar and composing my own music.
"Its always after some time when one asks oneself the question of meaning - My answer to it was that I'll focus more on music again and share my tunes with people who like it. I produce my songs in my small studio or in a friend's studio and sometimes play gigs. Target ist to increase the number of gigs and airplays of my songs and gather a small group of people who like my music. I started with music - I'll end with it."

Virginia grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, singing harmony with her guitar-playing brothers. In later years, she performed in talent shows, coffee shops, and at church when asked. (It seems that Musicians are always asking some girl to sing so they can play in the background.)

While involved in Nashville Community Theater, Virginia began studying with local voice coach Susan Anders. During this period, she recorded a jazz demo and got her first gig at Castrillo's. But Virginia found herself humming her own tunes on the side. So she took a leap of faith and recorded an original collection of songs, Seventh Siren, available on CDBaby.

Born from a need to attract ladies and stop the voices in my head, Skunkfoot is a fusion of the philosophy of Pepe le Pue and a famous vegetable produce known for it's flavour and potency ... with a bit of foot kicked in!

Trawling through the gardens of my mind I occasionally come up with what can only be described as self-indulgent musings which tend to explore one or less ideas.

Mostly blues based, some colouring comes from influences, most from mistakes.

With the recent addition of Marco on percussion, Skunkfoot is growing - there may be a cream for it though, don't panic!

Since The original Gathering in August 2007 my collaborations with p00kah, Picard and Chocola have helped me to find a more developed musical voice and have opened my heart and head to the possibilities and the realities of music!

Loving every second!

"Pooka: From old Celtic mythology. A fairy spirit in animal form. The pooka appears here and there, now and then, to this one and that one at his own caprice. A wise but mischievous creature. Very fond of rum-pots, crack pots; and how are you today, Mr. Wilson...??"

Courtesy of Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia;

"The Puca (Old Irish), (also Pookah, Phooka, Phouka, Puka, Pwca in Welsh, pouque in Dg..rn..siais, also Glashtyn, Gruagach) is a creature of Celtic folklore, notably in Ireland and Wales. It is one of the myriad of fairy (faery) folk, and, like many faery folk, is both respected and feared by those who believe in it."

Bell Tone Easy is a songwriting team of one, David Pickens from from St. Louis, Missouri. Involved with music at an early age in choir, David also developed a deep passion for drums and invested himself throughout the years with numerous choral and performing groups both as a percussionist and singer. Later in life he co-founded a successful country band the Kodiac Smith band which fused country, bluegrass and rock and performed for years in numerous venues in Missouri and Illinois.

Work, university, and marriage triumphed oraganized music for a spell, but David kept practicing drums and picked up acoustic and electric guitar, piano, and harmonica in order to accompany himself while singing cover songs, and eventually began writing his original songs reflecting life, love, and loss - whenever possible with a humorous and fun-loving spirit.

He enjoys collaborating with other musicians on his songs and with theirs, and especially those with an interest in acoustic, rock and alternative music.
